A drink? A meal? A film?
Shop till you drop? Out out?
Basingstoke has been named as one of the top 50 places to live in Britain in 2020, beating hundreds of locations around the U.K, and it’s not hard to see why. It’s a fast-paced, modern town with a rich cultural heritage that just happens to be surrounded by some of the prettiest villages beautiful Hampshire has to offer. It has a thriving nightlife scene, fantastic shopping, cinemas, theatres and lots of bars and restaurants.
The Festival Place shopping centre in the centre of Basingstoke has over 140 big brand stores and over 20 delicious eateries. After all that, if you fancy relaxing in front of a film, there’s a ten screen Vue multiplex cinema there too.
Basingstoke is also known for its Anvil Arts theatre. It’s actually three venues and is the beating heart of music and culture in the town. Anvil Arts host lots of events, including theatre, music, dance, opera and comedy.
If you like a tipple, you’ll be delighted to hear that Basingstoke also hosts Hampshire OctoberFest – a weekend of locally produced real ales and ciders (there’s also a wine bar and other drinks) as well as a delicious choice of street food all accompanied by live music in a lively, fun, festival atmosphere.
Going out out? In addition to the many bars and pubs, Basingstoke’s latest addition to late-night entertainment is Fever & Boutique. This nightclub is a new triple-level venue with fantastic booths to reserve. So dance the night away with friends and order cocktails from the masterful mixologists.
